At Rudham CE Primary, we are committed to helping our children understand the importance of caring for God’s creation and protecting our planet. Through our Eco Saviours team, we encourage pupils to explore environmental issues and take meaningful action within our school community.
Who Are the Eco Saviours?
Our Eco Saviours are a dedicated group of pupils from Year 2 to Year 6. They meet regularly with a member of staff to learn about sustainability, discuss environmental concerns, and plan practical ways to make our school more eco-friendly.
Their work focuses on key areas such as:
- Biodiversity
- Energy
- Global citizenship
- Healthy living
- Litter
- Marine environments
- School grounds
- Transport
- Waste
- Water
What Do They Do?
The group identifies projects that will have a positive impact on our school and local environment. They work together to raise awareness, encourage responsible choices, and inspire others—students, staff, and families—to care for the world around us. We value both our school community and our wider environment, and the Eco Saviours play a vital role in strengthening that connection.
Our Goals for 2025–2026
During the 2025–2026 school year, the Eco Saviours will be working towards achieving the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award. They will follow the seven-step Eco-Schools programme, which forms an important part of our Climate Action Plan.
The group is supported by the Diocese of Norwich Environmental Advisor, who helps guide and enrich their work.
Planned Projects for 2025–2026
Our Eco Saviours have an exciting year ahead, with projects including:
- Earth Day celebrations
- Switch Off Day to reduce energy use
- Creating a wildflower area within the school grounds
- Building habitats for wildlife, such as bug hotels and bird houses
